Based on true events A Whiter Shade of Pale is a story of pain, despair, and ultimately grace. John and Ann are a middle-aged Christian couple leading a seemingly normal life. However in the course of a single morning these illusions are shattered by reality when Ann receives the news that she is HIV positive. This shocking news leads to the even more shocking reality: that John is the one who gave it to her and has been living a closeted life as gay man for years. They are left to grapple with a collision of worlds they hoped would always remain separate.
