Afternoon Talk it's an excerpt of the documentary feature film that I have been working on in the past two years. A series of conversations that I have with my grandmother about life, love, time and the future. Helena is 88 years old and she is a storyteller. Since I was a child she used to fill our afternoons with stories. When I moved to NYC to pursuit a carrier in film, she gave me a cardboard box filled with super 8mm films that belong to my grandfather. That unfortunately I didn't have the chance to meet because he died 45 days after me and my sister were born. His films opened a whole different Universe to me, suddenly I could relate my passion for films with someone else that had the same passion. It was more than just a hobby. The documentary merges his footage with things that I've been shooting in the past years. Super 8mm is the language that I want to use in this film and this is why I feel that this contest fits perfect for this project. Thanks for taking my work into consideration.
