During Springtime in Antarctica Weddell seals return to long established pupping colonies to give birth and raise their beautiful pups! Weddell seals are excellent divers. This allows them to swim further under the sea ice than predators that might pray on their vulnerable new pups. This film introduces the Weddell seals of Erebus Bay in the Ross Sea of Antarctica, and the ecologists who study this population of the southernmost breading mammal on Earth.
