Torn between discovering her new identity and staying with her foster family, Asha must decide to find her true Heritage. I made this film to depict the fostering of black people in America. America is our foster home and has had moments of toxicity like our protagonist Asha in "Heritage." There have also been moments of connectedness and love between those suffering the same fate just like Asha and her foster siblings. I wanted to make this film to encourage us to go back to our true heritage and find out our identity. We need to reject what our foster country has taught us about ourselves and embrace our journey to discovering who we really are, no matter how frightening that journey may be.
