I live in SF/Bay area and my mother lives in India. We are roughly separated by 7,672 miles. Every summer, I visit India to spend time with her. Sharing a cup of chai( Indian spiced tea) is our ritual together. This year due to the Covid conditions, I was unable to visit her. This project was born out of my desire to find an alternative and meaningful way to be together and to document what means to be an immigrant under quarantine, far away from family.
