It’s 1957, and Russia and The United States are two years deep into a fierce competition known as the ‘Space Race'. The ultimate goal, of course, is to be the first to achieve successful human spaceflight. A task this size requires extensive tests and experiments, and the perfect specimen to use would be a dog. Living on the streets in a cardboard box, Leonid is just the canine for the mission. He is about to become the first canine cosmonaut.
