I am a woman. I am a poet. I am a metalsmith. I am a photographer. Lately, I am an amateur filmmaker who has been adding my own recorded voice over to footage and photographs I've taken time to dredge up during quarantine. This video features a poem from my MFA thesis at the University of San Francisco titled, "Lost Son." It spins a reinterpretation of the parable of the Prodigal Son that appears in Luke 15:11–32. I was raised Catholic, but I'm more of a pagan. I was conditioned to be straight, but I am a proud lesbian. I am a survivor of rape. of substance abuse. of eating disorders. of the dark night of the soul. Here's to the true creatives who refuse to quit in quarantine.
