Melo, a young and bright individual loses a very close friend to suicide. His descent into depression while searching for answers to the nature of life and death leads him to a cycle of eternal suffering. Taking a look at the experimental and more artistic cinema, perhaps in the more “out of the box”, André (the director) began to study the works of “The Holy Mountain” and “Santa Sangre” director Alejandro Jodorowsky as well as: “Rabits” and “Mullholand Drive” by David Lynch or even the more experimental “Lucifer Rising” and “Invocation of My Demon Brother” by Kenneth Anger. He then decided to focus on the concept of depression and suicide which, although he had never experienced its effects, has always been intrigued by the state of the human mind to come to such an end. Melodies of a Mute Life is an audiovisual journey, carefully thought out and built around its strong images, compositions and its sound-mixing harmoniously combined with a soundtrack by names like Rezs? Seress, Alessandro Moreschi, Alias Conrad Coldwood and others.
