The She Directed Filmmaker Contest
She Rock Ice is a preview of the full 10 min video following an ice climb and the preparation that is involved. SheRockScience (the main character) combines science, adventure, and art to explore the world around her. The full video explores memory formation and the hormones behind adventure seekers. Memories of past adventures seep into the first part of the video, while preparing for ice climbing. Then the viewer joins on an ice climbing adventure. The original video was created for the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival (March 2019). I wrote, directed, edited, filmed, and starred in this video. Jill Rafel provided extra filming during the ice climb. Climbing was made possible thanks to Mark Fletcher.
