A friend of mine sent me the information about this contest and as I had started creating my own work, I sought to participate as a way to challenge the fear, self-doubt, and emotional ups and downs that go with developing personal work. I wanted to tell a story that echoed in my heart and thus 'Sis.' was born. After learning about sisters I'd never met before, I didn't know quite how to feel about. This project was my way of working through those emotions and expressing myself. With a small crew of just myself and my friend Johnny Quinones, we set out to shoot in a weekend and it was a bonafide learning experience. One i'm very proud and happy I embarked on. From writing, to drafting up shooting schedules and call sheets, to directing, I had a lot on my plate, but i'm happy to present my final piece, Sis.
