Economic stability is at the heart of any thriving community. When all of the members of the community have the ability to have basic needs met and resources to care for themselves and their families, the sustainability and quality of life for everyone increases. Unfortunately, because we have a racist and sexist history, not every member of our Country has the same access to the same degree of financial security and therefore, we are not socially and emotionally secure. Specifically, at the intersection of racism and sexism is the devaluation of Black Women and their labor.
