The "Helping Hands of Hope" is a Christmas gift drive created by the National Honor Society chapter at La Joya High School. This program allows needy families around the community to be given an enjoyable Christmas by receiving gifts donated by students and staff. After 33 years, the program is stronger than ever, providing gifts and supplies for almost 40 families throughout the district. This drive, created by Yolanda Garcia, Spanish teacher and N.H.S. sponsor at La Joya High School, has been the saving grace for many individuals around our school district, providing supplies such as, stoves, heaters, building materials, clothes, and so forth.
