Jane is women. An experimental film that began with the thought of women put into a box. It evolved into poetry, specifically about sexual abuse. As I edited the film, I found the less said, the better. I saw the story of a woman in the world we live in. We are physically and emotionally abused, assaulted, mistreated, disrespected, and misunderstood, and yet we flourish. We evolve past our circumstance. We thrive despite abuse. We fight against the war and rise above the battle. Jane is she, her, us. The spectator decides what her truth is in this film, an experiment from a place of pain but also strength.
