Because of our human activity, our world is experiencing one of the major changes observed so far in a really short period of time. The production of plastics is a huge industry, which has led to a turning point in environmental pollution. Our way of life is leaving a mark - even in geological terms - which will be known later as the Anthropocene, the age of humans. Recent observations of small pieces of plastic in the global ocean are seen worldwide and increase every day. But how far can these pieces go? And how can they impact our lives as they disappear from our eyes? When something escapes your observation, it does not mean it will have no further impacts or effects on your life. Today, plastic is omnipresent: if you open your eyes, you will see that you wear it, you hold it, you sleep on it - but you also eat it and scrub your skin with it. This material is everywhere, in some products you would never expect it to be – even in your toothpaste! Just make the right choice, look at the labels before buying something. Buy vegetables without plastic packaging and say no to plastic bags. One action alone seems small but if we all boycott it, industries will have no choice but to stop using plastic. You may not know it, but you have the power, and it is your duty to use it to protect the oceans, the source of life on Earth.
