Broadcast on PBS & Short Films TV, MUTE is a 17-minute short film inspired by a true story about a deaf high school student who played football and rose above adversity to fulfill his dream. Nick Galvin and I have finished a feature length screenplay based on this short film. Our goal is to gain exposure and obtain the funding we need for the feature film. This film has a strong voice for the deaf and disabled community and we hope to make a difference in these communities by making the feature and having it distributed. This is a film that inspires one to follow their dreams and believe that anything is possible. Feature film synopsis: MUTE is a story about Jeffrey, a deaf high school student. He finds purpose when he meets a band of high spirited misfits in his special needs class lead by a tough love yet charismatic teacher who inspires him to rise above his disability, the doubts and fears of his father, and pursue his passion for football and life regardless of the consequences.
