In 2015, researchers reported that women comprised only 13 percent of local government professionals in top leadership positions. Since then, the needle has barely budged. Local government professionals at the League of Women in Government (LWG) Symposium address the low percentage of women holding top city and county CEO/CAO positions in the United States, and share their perspectives on the importance of gender balance and diversity in high-level local government leadership. The LWG Symposium was held in Kansas City, MO, in collaboration with the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) at their 102nd Annual Conference. This video is a very short package, and can be classified as a mini-documentary.
