I wrote, directed, and co-produced this movie just outside of Austin, TX. I was fortunate to have a very talented and diverse cast and crew work on it with me. It stars Katlynn Simone, who got her start when BET cast her as Brit Brat in The Game. She now plays Treasure on Empire. The Right Thing is about a strong young woman who is forced to take very difficult actions that have lasting consequences. It is a personal story for me, but I also consider it a metaphor for the African American experience in modern American society.
