This is a story of a courageous and articulate trailblazer who has gone through unimaginable pain and suffering to realize both true self and life calling. Her name is Millie Milton, born and living in Guyana, South America. Millie initially lived as a gay man; it was through education that the gay man recognized true identity as a transgender woman. Following that difficult realization was the equally traumatic emotional and physical transition. Millie is the President and a Peer Educator for Guyana Trans United (GTU), an organization established and run by trans-identified individuals, as well as the founder of a transgender global organization called Proud to be Trans. As a visible transgender woman, Millie tells of the stigma, discrimination, and violence she has faced on a daily basis. And these have resulted in the three lifelong, titular battles she has fought. YOU FIGHT YOURSELF TO REALIZE WHO YOU ARE. YOU FIGHT THOSE YOU LOVE TO PRESENT WHO YOU ARE. YOU FIGHT THE OUTSIDE WORLD TO PROTECT WHO YOU ARE. In the end, Millie is an advocate for a better livelihood for transgender people. She knows things are progressing slowly; despite that, she has put a card in her pocket that says ‘I have won.’ But the battles have not been won; they are still going on. Director; Shelley Jarrett
