At the end of the 1930's, during the Great Depresion, in a small village in South Dakota called Britton Ivan Besse worked as a cinema projectionist. They were difficult times and Ivan had to think of something to get people back to the cinema. He decided to taketo the streets and film the people going about their everyday lives, then invited them all to see themselves on the big screen, as if they were true Hollywood stars.
